You may have seen recent reports about a cyber attack affecting the Legal Aid Agency (LAA). We know this news may feel unsettling, especially if you’ve received legal aid in the past. You can find the government’s latest update here:

We want to reassure all our clients—past and present—that this incident does not involve Pax Mediation’s systems or records. The breach relates to the Legal Aid Agency’s own systems, which are separate from ours.
At Pax Mediation, keeping your personal information safe is something we take extremely seriously. We operate with robust data protection procedures and only retain client records for a maximum of six years, in line with our privacy policy and legal obligations.
While we haven’t been directly affected, we encourage anyone who has applied for legal aid since 2010 to take the following precautions, as advised by the LAA:
Be cautious of unfamiliar emails, phone calls or messages.
Change passwords, particularly if you’ve reused them across accounts.
Don’t share personal or financial information unless you're certain who you're speaking to.
If something feels suspicious, take a moment to verify before responding.
If you are worried or have questions about your data, we encourage you to read the government’s guidance and follow the steps outlined.
The Legal Aid Agency have also provided a number that you can contact if you have any questions - 0300 200 2020.
Stay informed and stay safe.— The Pax Mediation Team
