Our services are available through Legal Aid, ensuring that eligible clients can access professional mediation for FREE. Whether you are dealing with family disputes, divorce settlements, financial disagreements, or child arrangements, Pax Mediation is here to help.

WHAT IS LEGAL AID MEDIATION?

Legal aid mediation is a government-funded service that covers the cost of mediation for individuals who meet certain financial criteria. This means that if you qualify for legal aid, your mediation sessions could be completely FREE.

The mediator will assess your eligibility before booking your appointment so if you are not eligible you do not have to proceed with the meeting if you do not want to.

If the other party is eligible for Legal Aid, the Legal Aid Agency will pay for the Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) for both of you.

If you are eligible for Legal Aid, you will also be eligible for the Help with Mediation scheme, which provides for some free legal advice alongside mediation. We can tell you more about this at your MIAM.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM LEGAL AID MEDIATION?

Legal aid mediation can be used in a variety of situations, including:

  • Divorce and separation – Reaching agreements on property and finances.

  • Child arrangements – Deciding on parental responsibilities and arrangements for children.

  • Financial disputes – Resolving disagreements over assets, debts, and maintenance payments.

If you are unsure whether you qualify for legal aid, our team can guide you through the eligibility criteria and application process.
